Hamburg & Me
Some cities you visit, some cities stay with you
I came to Hamburg for an interview, but somewhere between the harbour, the long walks, the cold wind, and the unexpected sunshine, the city started feeling like more than just a place I had travelled to. There was something about Hamburg that made me slow down and actually look around. The water, the boats, the open spaces, and the way the city seemed to keep moving all had their own rhythm.
Maybe it was the weather, too. Hamburg somehow managed to give me sunshine and freezing wind at exactly the same time — as if the city couldn't decide whether to welcome me or test me. 😂 But I actually loved it. Walking beside the water with the sun out and that cold breeze hitting my face became one of those simple moments that stays in your memory for no particular reason.
And then there was the reason I came in the first place — the interview and meeting my team. Seeing the people I'd been working with in person made the trip feel even more special. Conversations felt different face-to-face, and suddenly the work had real people, real stories, and real personalities behind it. It felt less like visiting a workplace and more like being introduced to a new chapter.
By the time I was leaving, Hamburg had somehow become a little personal. I arrived thinking I was just coming for an interview; I left with memories of the city, the people, the water, the weather, and a feeling that I'd like to come back someday. And of course, I cannot forget the most important discovery of the trip — what a burger... sorry, what a Hamburg-er. 😂
